Doorzign displays are not updating

Step-by-step guide to setting up and maintaining your Doorzign gateway remotely – from connecting the HDMI cable to remote configuration.

Kurz gesagt:

In this guide, you will learn how to connect your Doorzign gateway correctly, check its status and, if necessary, access it via HDMI or remotely. It also explains functions such as e-paper updates, cache clearing and reboots to ensure reliable operation. The use of the Qbic Remote Configuration Centre is also described step by step.

Please check the following steps one by one

The gateway has power and internet

Is your gateway powered up and connected to the internet?

Connect the screen to the HDMI port

You can connect the gateway to a screen via HDMI. This allows you to see the gateway’s status. If you also connect a mouse, you can operate the gateway.

Check the start URL

When starting the gateway, make sure that the start URL is set correctly.

There should be a custom login URL there:

https://doorzign.zeitwart.de/login/123xyz...

If you cannot see this URL, please enter the following value:

https://doorzign.zeitwart.de/welcome

Gateway interface

Once this start address has been entered and the gateway has been activated, you should see the following interface, which displays the current status of the gateway:

The table shows all the e-papers currently visible to the gateway. The buttons provide you with various options:

Get E-Paper

This forces the gateway to search for available e-paper displays (Doorzign displays). This happens automatically every five minutes.

Get E-Paper-Jobs

Any updates or tasks that the gateway is required to perform are sent as ‘jobs’. You can use this button to manually trigger the retrieval of jobs. This happens automatically every 30 seconds.

Reboot

The gateway is being restarted. In some cases, this can resolve errors. The gateway is restarted automatically once a day.

Clear Cache

Clear the gateway’s browser cache and reload this page. If a software update has been installed, clicking ‘Clear Cache’ may help. The cache is automatically cleared once a day.

Save History

The current status of the e-paper displays (e.g. battery level and signal strength) is stored in a log on the server. This happens automatically once an hour.

Message History

Shows you what the gateway has most recently done automatically. You’ll find relevant information here, particularly regarding newly uploaded images. A message might look something like this:

Qbic Remote Configuration Center

If there is a computer on the same subnet, you can alternatively access the gateway without having to connect an HDMI monitor.

To do this, you will need to install the RCC software. Please send a brief email to support: support@zeitwart.de

  1. You can search for a device using its IP range if you do not know its exact IP address. It is important that the device is on the same network

  2. Enter the device’s password. You can request the default password from support@zeitwart.de.

  3. You can log in to the display and control it remotely using the pen icon.
