Each of the three buttons of a Doorzign display can show its own content: text, your own image or events from a calendar. Here you learn how to set up the content.
Open the overview of your displays via Displays in the menu.
Click the pencil on the tile of the display. The display’s detail page opens.
You change the name and description in the Details tab via the pencil. The name helps you find the display again later.
At the top of the detail page you find the tabs Button 1, Button 2 and Button 3 as well as the ad-hoc and options tabs. Each button can show its own template.
On a button without content you see the template tiles to choose from. If a template is already set, you change it via Choose template.
Text – room number, names and a message as text.
Image – upload your own image.
iCal Connect – show events from a calendar. Button 1 only and only with an iCal Connect licence, see Set up iCal Connect.
Room view – Button 1 only. From here you can also try Zeitwart and create a demo.
Disable – the button is not used.
Text and image require a DoorZign licence (basic or iCal Connect).
The Text template fills the display with text:
Title (top) – max. 50 characters, e.g. the room number
Text 1 – max. 75 characters
Text 2 – max. 50 characters
Message – max. 100 characters, at the bottom of the display
For the top area and the message you choose a text colour and a background colour: black, red or white. By default the text is black on white and the message white on red.
On the right you see a preview that updates as you type. The Color Simulation switch shows the colours the way the E-Paper display renders them.
Click save. A message confirms that the sign is being transferred to the display, and the display updates automatically.
Your own images give you complete design freedom. Upload an image in JPG or PNG format with max. 5 MB. The display can only show black, white and red – images with few, strong colours work best.
The ideal format is:
EP-400: 400 × 300 pixels (rotated to portrait: 300 × 400)
EP-700: 800 × 480 pixels (rotated to portrait: 480 × 800)
If your image doesn’t fit exactly, you choose how it is fitted:
Show the whole image (white borders) – default. The entire image is visible, empty areas stay white.
Fill the display (crop) – the image fills the display, protruding areas are cut off.
After uploading, a message confirms the upload and the display is updated automatically. Use the show button to send the image to the display again if needed.
In the options tab you set the rotation of the display (0°, 90°, 180° or 270°) – for example when you mount it in portrait orientation. For images, keep the rotated dimensions in mind.
