Create iCal feed - Microsoft

Create an iCal feed from Microsoft Exchange / Microsoft 365 (for Doorzign iCal Connect)

Kurz gesagt:

Doorzign can show calendar events automatically via an iCal feed (ICS URL) with the iCal Connect licence. For this you need a URL pointing to a published calendar ICS file.

Requirements

  • You have access to the calendar mailbox (user or resource calendar).

  • Outlook on the web (OWA) is available (Microsoft 365 or Exchange on-premises).

  • “Publish a calendar” is not disabled by policy in your organisation (this is often controlled by an admin).

  1. Open Outlook on the web and switch to the calendar view.

  2. Open Settings (gear icon) → View all Outlook settings.

  3. Select Calendar → Shared calendars.

  4. In the “Publish a calendar” section:

    • select the calendar

    • choose the level of detail (e.g. “Can view when I’m busy” vs. “Can view all details”)

  5. Click Publish.

  6. Two links are shown:

    • HTML link (view in the browser only)

    • ICS link (this is the iCal feed) → copy the ICS URL.

You can then add this ICS URL in Doorzign as an iCal source. Here’s how: Set up iCal Connect

Option B: Exchange on-premises (OWA) – similar to Microsoft 365

With Exchange Server (e.g. 2016/2019) the process in OWA is usually very similar:

  1. Open OWA → Calendar

  2. Settings → Calendar / Shared calendars

  3. Publish calendar → choose calendar and level of detail → Publish

  4. Copy the ICS link (iCal feed)

Note: Depending on the Exchange version and UI, the menu labels may differ slightly; the feature is usually called “Publish calendar”.
